D-Star REF097 D-Plus Information

Purpose
The D-Star REF097 D-Plus Reflector serves multiple functions:
- Creation of Virginia focused repeater network
- Support Virginia Department of Emergency Services (VDEM)
EmComm services with a Virginia, Statewide D-Star network
- Provide dedicated D-Star location for Virginia based Amateur
Radio activities: Special Events, Nets, Group Activities, etc.
Reflector Modules
REF097 hosts 5 unique linking modules - each with a specific
purpose.
- REF097 A - Virginia Statewide Permanent Linking
- Intent: Module A provides 24/7/365 Virginia Statewide
Repeater coverage
- Repeater Policy
- Repeater should reside within Virginia
- Repeater should be coordinated by the appropriate
organization (SERA, T-MARC)
- Repeater should not be "cross linked" with other repeaters
- Repeater may link/unlink as the trustee desires
- Hotspot/Non-Repeater Policy
- Hotspots are welcome regardless of location
- Hotspots should be used for the exclusive use of the
Hotspot owner
- Hotspots should not be "cross linked" with other
repeaters, gateways, reflectors
- Amateur Policy
- Disable Automated GPS/location transmission
- REF097 B - Virginia Regularly Scheduled Nets
- Intent: Module B provides a dedicate location for
regularly scheduled nets and events
- Repeater Policy
- Net Control repeater should reside within Virginia
- Repeater should reside within Virginia
- Repeater should be coordinated by the appropriate
organization (SERA, T-MARC)
- Repeater should not be "cross linked" with other repeaters
- Hotspot/Non-Repeater Policy
- Hotspots are welcome regardless of location
- Net Control Hotspot should reside within Virginia
- Hotspots may used for local area coverage (Parks,
Meetings, etc.)
- Hotspots should not be "cross linked" with other
repeaters, gateways, reflectors
- Amateur Policy
- Disable Automated GPS/location transmission
- REF097 C - Special Events, EmComm, Ad-Hoc Nets, Ad-Hoc
Group Chats
- Intent: Module C provides Ad-Hoc availability; no
need to schedule event - use anytime without restrictions
- Repeater Policy
- Repeater should be coordinated by the appropriate
organization (SERA, T-MARC,
others as appropriate)
- Repeater should not be "cross linked" with other repeaters
- Hotspot/Non-Repeater Policy
- Hotspots are welcome regardless of location
- Hotspots may used for local area coverage (Parks,
Meetings, etc.)
- Hotspots should not be "cross linked" with other
repeaters, gateways, reflectors
- Amateur Policy
- Automated GPS/location transmission is allowed
- REF097 D - Digital (RS-MS3A, D-Rats, etc)
- Intent: Module D provides Digital mode coverage;
examples are text, chat, image sharing. Voice mode unused
unless part of the Digital testing troubleshooting activity
- Repeater Policy
- Repeater should be coordinated by the appropriate
organization (SERA, T-MARC,
others as appropriate)
- Repeater should not be "cross linked" with other repeaters
- Hotspot/Non-Repeater Policy
- Hotspots are welcome regardless of location
- Hotspots should be used for the exclusive use of the
Hotspot owner
- Hotspots should not be "cross linked" with other
repeaters, gateways, reflectors
- Amateur Policy
